What an adventure I had getting Ben and Chelsea's engagement photos! These two are adventurers at heart and wanted to take photos that reflected this lifestyle. We went off road to find their perfect location, although we had also discussed hiking. Originally we had planned to hike because hiking is such a big part of their life, but the trail we had decided upon closed down for construction about a week before their engagement session. We came up with plan b, which I think was just perfect! They also brought along their pup, Koda who as you will see, is super photogenic, and such a sweetheart!
Here is a little about their proposal and wedding plans in Ben's words: I planned to propose to Chelsea for a long time. Chelsea didn't want a ring, but I still wanted to give her something memorable to celebrate the occasion. After getting her family's blessing I worked with them to create a photo book capturing some of our favorite memories and travels from our relationship. I hid the book in our SUV which we took out to the Moab area on vacation last year for camping, hiking, and rock climbing. I proposed at Dead Horse Point state park there, on a cliff overlooking the Colorado River as it winds towards Canyonlands NP. I showed her the book and she loved it- at least enough to say yes! We're getting married up at Watson Lake in October. We love the area and think the scenery there is uniquely beautiful and captures what we love about Arizona so well. We first found the area due to the prevalence of rock climbing there in the Granite Dells but have been back many times to hike around the water and take our friends from out of town. We're aiming for a casual wedding where our friends and family can enjoy the lake. We'll be blending in some of Chelsea's family's Jewish wedding traditions and enjoying a barbeque in the afternoon.
Michael and I are super excited to be a part of documenting their love story. Watson Lake is such a beautiful place and we can already feel the excitement and anticipation for this very special milestone in their lives.
